Finding a Physician

If you don’t have a health care provider that you can come out to, it’s important to find a way to make sure you can get all your health care needs met, whether by finding a new provider, or by finding additional ones. This is especially important for STI testing, which changes depending on the people you have sex with and the kinds of sex you have.

If you are searching for a new family physician, the Manitoba College of Family Physicians and Manitoba Health offer a service called "The Family Doctor Connection Program" which provides an up-to-date list of Winnipeg family doctors accepting new patients. When you call, you will be given the names and telephone numbers of family physicians accepting new patients in the area you live in.

Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Since this service does not provide a list of GLBTT* friendly doctors, you may want to refer to your local GLBTT* centre to see if they know of any GLBTT* friendly doctors who may be accepting patients.
