PROTECT YOURSELF

INFORM YOURSELF

GET TESTED

Different kinds of sex have
different levels of risk.

Remember that ANY unprotected sexual contact between the mouth, anus, vagina, and penis can put you at risk for an STI.

Fingers and shared sex toys can also move sexual fluids that can transmit STIs. Contact between areas with thin skin (e.g., penis, outside of anus or vagina, lips, tongue) can also transmit STIs.

Protect yourself and reduce your risk
by following these simple rules:

#1 – If you are going to have sex of any kind, always practice safer sex by using a barrier such as a condom, sex dam, or latex glove.

If you don't have a sex dam you can make one out of a male condom. Just cut off the tip and cut down one side. Use it as a barrier over the vagina or anus of the person receiving oral sex.

#2 – Get tested regularly.

Simple blood and urine tests can be all you need to know your own health status.

#3 – Practice safe sex even if the results are negative.

Even if everything seems fine with both you and your partner, remember there is a window period or incubation period for some diseases before they become visible or noticeable in testing. You should still practice safer sex just to be on the safe side!

Now there is NO EXCUSE to not practice safer sex. Get condoms and lube at:
